Compact Electric Utility Vehicle Is Already in Asia & Europe
Tropos Technologies is introducing Cenntro Automotive’s Metro all-battery vehicle to the U.S. market today.
Cenntro’s 100% battery-electric ‘Metro’ CUV, now for sale to U.S. fleets via California’s Tropos Technologies, is available with pickup bed, cargo box, or tradesman package, and is suitable for local delivery, maintenance crew transportation, parking enforcement, and people transport on campuses or in communities.
The zero-emission, low-speed Metro CUV (compact electric utility vehicle) is already in service in Asia and Europe, the companies say.
The “modular” Metro, available with pickup bed, cargo box, or tradesman package, is highly flexible, Tropos says, suitable for local delivery, maintenance crew transportation, parking enforcement, and people transport on campuses or in communities.
Campuses, Municipalities, Local Businesses
“The Metro is ideal for campuses, municipalities and local business who are striving for the most contemporary transport options and a low carbon footprint,” Tropos CEO John Bautista says in a release
“Hundreds of Metro vehicles are delivering goods, services, and passengers all over Europe and Asia,” he said.
Optional battery packages take single-charge range up to 120 miles. Where local laws allow, the Cenntro Metro has a top speed of 50 mph.

“Customers can choose from several different configurations which include the open truck bed with fold down sides, hydraulic dump bed, utility bed with ladder/lumber rack, and van box with rear and side doors,” Tropos says.
The vehicle is driven by Cenntro’s “Cenntro Power” integrated powertrain for superior performance, weight balance and handling. The proprietary design “achieves high efficiency with low production costs, at a price that is best in its class,” Tropos says, “simply designed to have no maintenance, minimal moving parts and a long life.”
‘Pushing Fleets to Reimagine’
“With the Metro, we are pushing fleets to reimagine the value their compact utility vehicles bring to their overall facility operations,” Cenntro Automotive CEO Peter Wang says in today’s release.
“Counterparts to the Metro simply do not provide the market the complete package are looking for, and at Centro,” he said, “we’re dedicated to doing better than the status quo.
From our 100% U.S. final assembly to our integrated powertrain, Cenntro electric vehicles deliver high-value, dependable and low cost of ownership vehicles to meet market demand.”
